Previewed with a powerful V8 power plant along with a muscular design a month ago, the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is set to be the brand’s most powerful and fastest Jeep model to be conceived. This SRT model will be the variant offered for Europe, Middle Ease and Africa.

Right from the get go, the Red Vapor special greets customers and onlookers with a front end that features a seven-slot black chrome grill paired with narrow adaptive HID headlights with black inserts and decorated with LED lighting. The rear design of the SUV is highlighted by a black-bordered light cluster and is accented by a spoiler that sits on top of the tailgate. An automatic function for the tailgate is standard and can be activated by pressing the raised SRT badging. Completing the exterior appearance of the Jeep is a set of 20-inch five-spoke “Goliath Wheels” that are also finished in black chrome.

Inside, Laguna leather is used throughout the cabin and can be specified with either black or Sepia colors. The steering wheel is backlit and is wrapped in anodized silver finish while interior trim is provided by gray chrome. The center console houses the T-shaped shifter that controls 8 gear ratios while a 8.4-inch touchscreen display governs the center dash and gives customers a view of SRT-exclusive performance details that include track time, lateral acceleration, 0-100 km/h time and more. Finishing the interior amenities is a Harman Kardon surround sound system that puts out 825 watts and consists of 19 speakers.

The rear end of the Jeep

Under the hood is a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that spins out 468 PS with 624 Nm of pulling torque and is connected to a 8-speed automatic transmission. In helping cut fuel consumption the engine is fitted with modular displacement technology that turns off half of the cylinders when not in full power which can be activated with a press of a button. Also standard in the Jeep is the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology that eliminates unnecessary noise and vibration and a Launch Control feature.

The front axle sits on Short Long Arm (SLA) suspensions with coil springs with adaptive Bilstein technology and anti-roll bar while the rear is planted with a multi-link suspension with coil springs, Bilsten adaptive tech, aluminum lower control arm, independent upper joints along with toe-in arm and anti-roll bars. The braking system makes use of red 6-piston Brembo calipers onto 38 cm ventilated discs while the rear ha 4-piston Brembo calipers equipped onto 35cm discs. From 100 km/h to a stand-still, it only needs 100 meters to complete the stop.
