The MPV turned crossover has officially been revealed after Peugeot held the world debut of the all-new 3008 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
Its exterior now features the brand's current design philosophy with the front fascia taking the style of 308 and 2008. It features a signature headlights along with a Lion emblem and smiling grill. Up front, it gets a more distinctive hood, larger air intakes, and new foglights.
The new-generation model offers a more crossover profile after redesigning it. Aside from this, it now has a high waistline, large alloy wheels, new side protection moldings, and a raised ground clearance. At the rear, it is fitted with a new tailgate, claw-like taillights, wide rear bumper, and a roof-mounted spoiler.
Meanwhile, the interior has a more compact steering wheel along with chrome inlays. The distinct instrument panel retains, however, with an added 12.3-inch fully digital display. It also includes five display modes which can be personalized according to the driver's style.
Located at the center is an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with 3D Navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and voice recognition as such. It also includes toggle switches that control some functions of the 3008 such as hazard lights, automatic climate control, window defogger, etc. Other amenities included are panoramic sunroof, Focal audio system and body-hugging front seats with 8-way massage function.
A wide range of gasoline- and diesel-powered engines will be available in the new 3008. Beginning with the former, there's the 1.2-liter PureTech and the 1.6-liter THP. The smaller engine produces 130 PS and can be mated to 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. Meanwhile, the bigger engine puts out 160 PS and is exclusively mated to a 6-speed automatic.
Diesel power comes in the form of two engines, the 1.6-liter BlueHDi and the 2.0-liter BlueHDi. The former comes in two output ratings; 100 PS (5-speed manual) and 120 PS (6-speed manual or 6-speed auto). The top-of-the-range diesel generates 150 PS and is exclusively available with a 6-speed manual. Those that prefer more power from their diesel can get the GT model which is propelled by a 2.0-liter BlueHDi that's been tuned to produce 180 PS. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Lastly, depending on its variant, several features can be fitted on the new 3008. For instance, it can be equipped with the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) which includes the Active Safety Brake and Distance Alert, Active Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning, Automatic Adaptive Headlights and Active Cruise Control as such.
