Each Sunday morning, car enthusiasts would get together for some breakfast, coffee and simply talk about their cars – these meets are called "Cars and Coffee". This happens not only in the US, but nearly everywhere around the world, and yes, even in the Philippines. But with the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown/quarantine measures in place across the globe, "Cars and Coffee" has been non-existent. The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California wants to bring it back though, even from the safety of our homes.

The Petersen Automotive Museum has announced that they will be holding the first-ever online Cars and Coffee. Though Cars and Coffee events are often held by local communities, this upcoming online event won’t be exclusive to those living in Los Angeles. Instead, the Petersen Museum is opening it up to everyone around the world, yes this includes the Philippines.

Want to join the Petersen’s online Cars and Coffee? All you need to do is submit a short video clip of your vehicle together with a short story and a few bits of information about your car. Specifically, the video must be shot in landscape format and must be around 20-30 seconds long. It doesn’t need to be shot using a professional camera; your phone camera will be enough. Upload your video to either Dropbox, Google Drive, or YouTube. Afterward, fill out the form and you’re done. The deadline for submissions is on April 24.

The videos of everyone that submitted will then be compiled by the Petersen Museum. On April 26, the finished compilation video will be premiered live on YouTube. During the premiere, a poll will be opened up for the People’s Choice Award. The organizers will also be announcing the Petersen Perfection award and Best in Show. All awards will then be shipped to the owners following the event.
