A car that suits urban traffic
Peugeot revealed its all-new compact city car: the 108. The new model, geared for urban environments, is available as either a hardtop hatchback or with retractable top.
Peugeot says the 108 is a car built for urban journeys that has a length 3,470mm long and 1,620mm wide. The Peugeot 108 combines black and chrome to give the car a sharp look. The front end of the 108 is designed with a bold grill, a central beam and a lower air intake. Its headlamps are incorporated with LED daytime running lights while the rear is designed with a wraparound-style taillamps. It also has a large tailgate that extends from the spoiler to the trunk.
Peugeot says the interior of the 108 has a comfortable cabin that feels like it has come from a much larger premium car. It has an analogue speedometer and an LCD screen. The 108 also has a 7-inch touch screen, a push start button with the Peugeot Open and Go system, and an automatic air conditioning. It is also equipped with six airbags fitted as standard.
The 108 has four three-cylinder power units which are the following:
- 1.0-liter e-VTi 69 PS 5-speed manual
- 1.0-liter VTi 69 PS 5-speed manual
- 1.0-liter VTi 69 PS 5-speed electronic
- 1.2-liter PureTech VTi 83 PS 5-speed manual
The Peugeot 108 will have its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 4.
