Peugeot Philippines is set for an eventful year ahead following an important announcement. Glen Dasig, president of Peuegot Philippines, said that there will be three new models to join the local lineup.
The main highlight of the announcement is the second-generation 3008. Recently winning European Car of the Year, it becomes the fifth Peugeot to receive the accolade.
“We are ecstatic that the new Peugeot 3008 SUV has just been awarded the 2017 Car of the Year Award at the Geneva International Motor Show. Nearly 100,000 customers have already placed orders for it in Europe. We can't wait to have this amazing vehicle in the Philippines very soon,” said Glen Dasig, president of Peugeot Philippines.
Unveiled during the 2016 Paris Motor Show, the 3008 received a drastic redesign, shifting from its MPV roots to becoming a crossover. Its exterior is now more upright and adapts the design philosophy of the 308 and 2008. Inside, it features the brand's i-Cockpit dashboard layout. This layout mainly consists of a higher-set instrument cluster, a compact steering wheel, 12.3” head-up display and central capacitive touchscreen console with piano keys. It also features a number of driving aids and other high-tech equipment, as well as upgraded connectivity features.
Also in the pipeline are two models. The first is the Peugeot 5008 and the other, the Peugeot Traveller. Like the 3008, it leaves its MPV underpinnings and has transformed into a crossover. It does, however, retain its seven-seat capabilities and also adapts Peugeot's i-Cockpit interior. The Peugeot Traveller meanwhile is a van, representing the new generation of Peugeot people carriers.
