There’s more to France than just their fancy food, and their penchant for silent or rolling letters. They also have a car manufacturer, and that is Peugeot. The past few years showed the brand’s resurgence into the Philippines, and only a few days ago, they have unveiled their newest model.
Enter the Peugeot 3008 Petrol Active SUV. Their long wheelbase SUV has all the defining traits of Peugeot. With its sleek and modern design and innovative technologies, the 3008 elevates the customers’ driving experience to a whole new level.
On the outside, the 3008 sports an athletic yet sophisticated style. A powerful front end greets you with a raised radiator grille with vertical chrome details, and slim, feline-inspired headlights. At the rear, 3D-effect taillights easily grab one’s attention. Being highly visible in both day and night, they contribute to the 3008’s assertive look as well.
As is the trademark of Peugeot, the 3008 SUV brings you to a purely digital world with i-Cockpit. The capacitive 8-inch touchscreen, configurable 12.3-inch head-up display instrument panel, and compact steering wheel with built-in controls all aim to amplify the driving experience. Add to that a leather-trimmed steering wheel with contrasting stitching to the soft touch Claudia leather upholstery, it’s clear that Peugeot took note of the finest details to give you a futuristic and premium feel to their SUV.
To highlight the SUV’s versatility, the 3008 Active Petrol is equipped with a number of driver aids to enhance your safety and help you better understand and anticipate your surroundings. There's the Advanced Grip Control package which comes as standard. It is composed of hill-descent control, an optimized traction control system, and a unique set of tires that give you the best grip possible. It also has various driving modes for sand, snow, and rock.
Power is delivered care of a 1.6-liter Turbo High Pressure (THP) gasoline engine with an output of 165 PS and 240 Nm of torque. Being a lightweight engine, this also improves performance without compromising fuel efficiency. It is then paired with a six-speed Efficient Automatic Transmission (EAT6). The new SUV also features one-touch electric controls, paddle shifters (manual mode), and a Sport Mode for even greater responsiveness.
The Peugeot 3008 Active Petrol SUV retails at PhP 1,890,000 and is already available in all Peugeot Philippines dealerships. Likewise, the Peugeot 3008 Active Diesel variant is available, with its price dropped to PhP 2,090,000.
As for their CSR activities, Peugeot launched their Protectors of the Environment program. In an effort to address and combat climate change, is the first major undertaking of Peugeot Philippines in corporate philanthropy. The launch also introduced the first Protectors of the Environment, Olivia and Amelia Manzano Reyes, daughters of video blogger and radio DJ Andi Manzano-Reyes and businessman GP Reyes. Fruit-bearing trees were dedicated to both Olivia and Amelia during the pilot run of the program at the EVS Village Space in Parañaque City.
With their concern for the environment, their genuine care for the country, and their versatile vehicles, it seems that Peugeot is well on its way to leaving their mark in the Philippines in the years to come. Now that’s a good way to sink your claws into the market, isn’t it?
