As if October 17th couldn’t get any closer, Peugeot gives us another reason to pick up a copy of GT Sport once it hits the shelves next week. With GT’s penchant for spurning the imagination of manufacturers through the Vision Gran Turismo program, every manufacturer has a chance to showcase various futuristic concepts for players to drive in-game. In this case, Peugeot unveils the L750 R Hybrid which is set to be released alongside GT Sport’s debut.
The L750 R is actually an evolution of the L500 R Hybrid that was made available in Gran Turismo 6 back in 2015. The L500 R celebrates the victory of Dario Resta in the Indy 500 using a Peugeot L45 in May 30, 1916. This time around, the L750 R Hybrid Vision Gran Turismo takes the concept even further by adopting a low-slung carbon monocoque body flanked by large wheels housing big brakes. The single seater tips the scales at 825 KG, making it 175 KG lighter than the concept before it.
On the powertrain end, the L750 R’s petrol motor churns out 580PS with a rev limit of 10,000 RPM. That motor is then flanked by an electric motor that outputs 170PS to make the total 750PS that the concept is capable of doing. A seven speed sequential transmission takes care of putting power to the ground while a liquid-cooled lithium ion battery ensures the proper operation of the electric motor.
The Peugeot L750 R Hybrid Vision Gran Turismo joins 150 other vehicles in Gran Turismo Sport.
