For those that have longed for a more powerful Levorg, Subaru Philippines has heard your pleas.

After initially launching the Levorg with a 1.6-liter turbo three years ago, Motor Image Pilipinas, the official distributor of Subaru in the country, has officially launched the more powerful 2.0 GT-S variant. Motor Image will now be offering the Subaru Levorg 2.0 GT-S as the sole variant with additional kit and features, in lieu of the 1.6-liter variant.

As the variant indicates, it now gets the more powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged Boxer engine derived from the revered WRX. Internally known as the FA20F, the flat-four engine produces 268 PS at 5600 rpm along with a healthy 350 Nm of torque available between 2400 - 5200 rpm. Like the old 1.6 GT-S, the new 2.0 GT-S is also mated to a Lineartronic CVT with a seven-speed manual mode and paddle shifters.

Complementing the new turbocharged engine are the three SI-Drive modes: Intelligent (I) for everyday driving, Sport (S) for better performance, and Sport Sharp (S#), which sharpens both handling and acceleration.

Inside, it comes with leather-wrapped seats, with the driver and front passenger benefitting from sport bucket seats. It even has blue contrast stitching that gives the cabin a sportier look. Other features present on the 2.0 GT-S include power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, multi-function display, rain-sensing wipers, 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats, self-leveling LED headlights and a sunroof.

In-car entertainment, on the other hand, is provided by a 7-inch touchscreen display equipped with AM/FM radio, USB, Aux, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Besides having a more powerful turbocharged engine and a longer list of features, the upgraded Levorg also comes with a plethora of safety systems. The list includes anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, brake override system, active torque vectoring, vehicle dynamics control, emergency stop signal, blind spot monitoring, tire pressure monitoring, seven airbags, and an engine immobilizer.

Also providing some peace of mind and better driving convenience comes courtesy of EyeSight Driver Assist. With it, the Levorg 2.0 GT-S gets additional safety features like pre-collision braking, pre-collision throttle management, lane keep assist with sway warning and adaptive cruise control as such.

The 2019 Subaru Levorg 2.0 GT-S retails for Php 1,998,000.
