Subaru Philippines is on course for rapid expansion this 2019. In fact, they're aiming to double their dealer network this year so it's safe to say that Subaru will have a very busy 2019. It's for good reason too.
Glenn Tan, chief executive of Motor Image, spoke highly of the Philippine market. When asked how big the local market is for Motor Image Subaru, he had this to say.
“The Philippines is one of the top markets for Subaru in Asia. Taiwan is first, then Malaysia, in third is the Philippines,” said Tan. This is in terms of sales from Motor Image Subaru. That being said, it is all the more reason and initiative to expand the dealership network.
At the moment, Subaru Philippines has 19 dealerships. For their expansion, they are going for key cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Among these locations are Calamba, Tagum, La Union, and Zamboanga to name a few.
And with that, Subaru is planning an all-out offensive to boost the marque's presence in the country. They have kicked off 2019 with the launch of the all-new Forester, which is one of the country's top-selling Subarus. But they aren't stopping there. Tan also said that there will be a slew of special edition models that will roll out within the year.
One of these will be the Subaru XV GT. Set to debut sometime this year, it will be a slightly sportier version of the XV, and will have a kit fitted which was designed by the automaker's in-house tuning division, STI.
