An AutoIndustriya.com reader, Roger Edma, has just forwarded us what could be the very first uncamouflaged photos of the 2015 Nissan Navara; one in an amber/copper tone and another in brown/bronze. The photo surfaced at the Nissan Navara Club Thailand group.
Judging by these photos which appear to have been taken in secret at a Nissan garage, the 2015 Nissan Frontier/Navara (a model that will make its global debut on June 11) features a very proud front end with a large chrome grille, chrome bezels on the foglamp housings and even large, upswept headlamps with what could be LED running lamps; a very rare feature on pick-up trucks.
The busy front end flows into the wide fenders and around the crew cab bodies of both models. No photos of the double cab versions (the trucks most commonly sold in the Philippines) have surfaced yet. Both these models are right hand drive.
The rear end of this 2015 Navara has also been restyled significantly, departing from the usual slab-sided tailgate of most pick-ups. The photo of the brown Nissan Navara also has the sticker “Calibre” on the rear quarter, along with a “V” emblem on the tailgate, a chrome rear bumper and stepboards.
According to the reader who forwarded us the photos, the Navara is said to have a 2.5 liter turbo diesel engine that makes 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque. It was also stated that the new model has either a 7-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual. We have yet to verify the specifications.
What do you think of this all new Nissan Navara?
UPDATE: Due to insistent requests from Nissan Thailand and Nissan Motor Company, Ltd.'s Global PR we have removed the spyshots and replaced them with teaser images from the Nissan Youtube video. The said photos were reportedly taken by one of Nissan Thailand's suppliers. Nissan is currently pursuing legal action against the supplier.
