PhP 11.048 million can get you the Lexus LC 500 Convertible

Last year, Lexus Philippines made a big announcement – the arrival of the LC 500 Convertible. The open-top Japanese grand tourer that debuted back in November 2019 at the Los Angeles Auto Show would finally be making its way to the Philippines, marking the return of a convertible to the lineup. At the time, there was no official price yet, but it was estimated to be around PhP 10.5 to 11 million range.

After a long wait, it's finally here and on display at the Lexus Manila dealership. Interestingly enough, this beautiful green example with a tan interior isn't even their first unit. We were told the first one has since been sold. This second unit, on the other hand, is still available. Interested? The LC 500 Convertible costs PHP 11,048,000, roughy PHP 1 million more than the standard LC 500 that retails for PHP 9,908,000. A bit expensive in comparison, but you do get unlimited headroom.

Lexus did more than just chop the roof off of the LC 500 and add a ragtop. The automaker stiffened the entire under chassis with cross braces and re-tuned the suspension to handle the extra weight. With the addition of a storage mechanism, the Convertible's rear deck looks very different from the coupe. As a result, the grand tourer has a rather distinct shape when viewed from the side with the top down.

Inside, it's all the same as the coupe. There are loads of leather and aluminum trim all around from the front to the rear. This particular example has the cabin trimmed in a tan finish in place of a more traditional black cabin. Not a fan of the tan interior? We were told that customers can spec the interior color and trim of their LC 500 Convertible to their liking.

Under the hood, the 5.0-liter V8 engine remains unchanged from the fixed-roof version. Owners will still have 471 PS and 540 Nm torque available sent to the rear wheels via a 10-speed automatic.
