Last year, Rolls-Royce shocked the world by revealing their first ever SUV model, the Cullinan. Now, just almost a year later, the high-riding luxury motor car has officially made its way to the Philippines. With the arrival of the Cullinan, the Rolls-Royce model lineup in the country is finally complete.
Like many luxury auto brands in the Philippines, Rolls-Royce Manila does not exactly announce the price given the level of bespoke options available, but the ultra-luxury SUV will start at about PhP 53 million, or about USD 1 million.
“Philippines is an SUV country, and we are very excited to launch Cullinan today. Cullinan is the car our customers have been waiting for, perfectly suited for this market with an unmistakable presence on and off-road. This is the car that will set the new benchmark for super-luxury in the SUV segment, an all-purpose Rolls-Royce for our captains of industry,” said Willy Tee Ten, president of Autohub Group, authorized distributors of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Manila.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Manila officially welcomed the Cullinan SUV last March 13 at the Manila Polo Club and promises to ‘redefine luxury travel’ in the country, be it in the city or the province. It rides on the brand’s 'Architecture of Luxury' platform, which also underpins the all-new Phantom.
Despite being an SUV, the Cullinan features all of the signature Rolls-Royce design cues. To start, it features a long hood, short deck design. Up front, it looks nearly identical to the flagship Phantom sedan – from the brand’s signature pantheon grill to the rectangular LED headlights. The Cullinan then rides on 22-inch wheels, which help lift it off the ground. Like all other Rolls-Royce models, it also features suicide doors for the rear. At the back, there is a uniquely designed rear end with tall vertical taillights and a split tailgate.
Under the hood, the Cullinan is powered by Rolls-Royce’s signature 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The twelve-cylinder unit produces 563 PS and 850 Nm of torque, allowing the luxury SUV to hit an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. All-wheel drive and all-wheel steering come standard.
For the interior, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Manila offers customers a number of options to choose from. From handcrafted wood to custom leather upholstery, those interested may pick out what they want, creating a truly bespoke model.
The Cullinan is offered locally in both four- or five-seat models and is currently available for order with deliveries beginning in Q2 of 2019.
