Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) revealed the 2013 Outlander at the 2012 Philippine International Motor Show ahead of ASEAN markets. MMPC plans to sell the Outlander in the Philippine market by next year and is currently working on pricing for the new-generation crossover.

Interestingly, Mitsubishi actually claims they coined the term 'crossover' when they first debuted the first-generation Outlander (Airtrek) in 2001. Consistent with firsts, the Outlander will be the start of an all-new generation of global products for Mitsubishi Motors, consistent with the ambitions set in MMC's 'Jump 2013' smart business plan for a greener and more global Mitsubishi Motors. Furthermore, the new crossover will be a preview to brand's new design language for its passenger cars, crossovers and SUVs.

While no definitely engine configurations have been announced, we suspect that the 4B11 powering the Lancer EX GT-A and ASX will find its way under the hood of the new Outlander.
