Kia distributor Columbian Auto Car Corporation made a statement at the 4th Philippine International Motor Show as they brought in Kia's new Quoris (K9 in Korea) flagship model, which had its global debut in Korea just a few months ago. This also marks the ASEAN debut of the model, which was only christened last month after its debut in Korea as the K9 in May.
"After its successful launch in Korea, we're very honored to bring Kia's first rear-wheel drive sedan," relates Ms. Ginia R. Domingo, CAC President.
The Quoris represents Kia's new design direction brought about by Chief Designer Peter Schreyer and makes a clear signal of its intention to compete head-on with European luxury brands. Carrying Kia's signature 'Tiger Nose', luxury LED headlamps, and a voluminous hood, the Quoris reflects a strong and imposing character.
"We felt that the 2012 PIMS was the perfect venue to introduce this luxury model to the Philippine market. It is equipped with an array of technological and safety features in addition to its elegant exterior design. With the K9 Quoris, we hope to push for Kia's strong determination to offer consumers the broadest product line-up," she added.
While we've only had as much as a static seat time inside the car, we can safely say that we were very much impressed with the quality and refinement of the car. A very brief demo of the Advanced Vehicle Safety Management (AVSM) interface showed a very sophisticated looking system that controls features such as Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, and Around View Monitoring, and Parallel Park Assist.
The Quoris is not planned for showroom release for the Philippine market a close source revealed that it would be available on indent-order at a very attractive price starting at 3.5 to 4-Million Pesos.
