Mitsubishi Motors Philippines have confirmed that they will bring the Grand Runner-Hybrid Electric Vehicle (GR-HEV) concept car at the 5th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) scheduled for September 18-21, 2014.
The GR-HEV made its original debut during the 83rd Geneva International Motor Show back in 2013 and was considered to be the conceptual successor to the Strada/Triton pickup platform. It was recently confirmed when spy shots of the 2015 Mitsubishi Strada surfaced on the web.
The GR-HEV is powered by a 2.5-liter diesel hybrid featuring an electric motor fitted with a high capacity battery. The engine is then mated to an AWD drivetrain and has four drive modes; 2H, 4H, 4HL, and 4LL. It is also equipped with a Super All Wheel Control (SAWC) system that enables advanced control and braking on all four wheels. Completing the mechanicals is a torque control system that provides instant acceleration for the driver.
The next-gen Strada pickup is expected to make its Philippine debut next year.
