Asian Carmakers Corporation, the official distributor of BMW in the Philippines, has recently announced that it will bring the new X4 Sport Activity Coupe (SAC) at the 5th Philippine International Motor Show due to happen on September 18-21, 2014 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. The X4 will slot between the smaller X3 and the full-size X5 and combines the performance and capability of a premium SAC with the splendor of a traditional coupe according to the German automaker.

The 2014 X4 measures 4680mm long and stands 1624mm tall, 14mm longer and 37mm lower than the X3. The front end of the car features air intakes on the outer edges, the brand's signature kidney grill design, dual HID headlights and LED foglamps. Completing the exterior look of the X4 are a set of 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the X4 has a driver-oriented interior, highlighted by a high-gloss black panel and accented by aluminum and wood trims panels. The seats can have a 40:20:40 split configuration and has a carrying capacity ranging from 500-1,400 liters. An optional full-color heads-up display that projects necessary driving information and assistance systems is also available.

All X4 models will be powered by diesel engines. The X4 xDrive20d SE will be powered by a 2.0-liter engine that cranks out 193 PS with 400 Nm of torque and a 0-100 km/h time of 8.0 seconds. It is mated to a standard 6-speed manual gearbox but can be equipped with the optional 8-speed autobox. At the middle range is the X4 xDrive30d that has a 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 262 PS with 560 Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 6 seconds. Lastly, the range topping X4 xDrive35d also brandishes a 3.0-liter inline-six engine but it generates 317 PS with 630 Nm of torque and will do the 0-100 km/h time in just 5.2 seconds.

Other features included in the X4 is an automatic tailgate, Variable Sport Steering, front and rear Parking Distance Control and Performance Control.
