After premiering at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) now brings the updated Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) at this year's Philippine International Motor Show.
Like the model shown during last year's Tokyo Motor Show, the Outlander PHEV gets a slightly tweaked front fascia. The middle part of the front fascia is painted in black while the trim surrounding the middle section is finished in chrome. It also gets LED headlights and specially-made two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels.
On the other hand, the interior offers generous legroom, new design and material for the seats and a four-spoke steering wheel exclusive to the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
Mitsubishi's SUV is powered by a 2.0 liter inline-four that is mated to a new continuously variable transmission (CVT). Apart from that, Mitsubishi engineers also claimed that they were able to reduce friction losses on the Outlander PHEV. With it, Mitsubishi said that they were able to improve fuel economy to 20.2 km/l with pure electric range moving it closer to 60.2 km.
