Jeep Philippines will officially be expanding their crossover lineup at this year's Philippine International Motor Show. Slated to make its Philippine debut is the Renegade, the automaker's stake in the lucrative B-segment crossover.
First revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the upcoming Renegade blends off-road capability and urban driving with its Wrangler-inspired exterior and compact dimensions. The Renegade is built in Melfi, Italy and shares its platform with the Fiat 500X.
Inside, the Renegade features a 'Tek-Tonic' interior design which combines tactile and soft-touch materials. Amenities that are available in the Renegade include: Uconnect, 7-inch touchscreen display, Parkview reverse camera and electronic stability control as such.
There is no word yet as to what engines or transmissions will be available in the PH-spec Renegade. In other markets, the Renegade can be fitted with a 1.4-liter turbo inline-four, 2.0-liter turbo diesel and a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated inline-four. Transmissions, on the other hand, range from a 6-speed manual, 6-speed dual clutch and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. It is also fitted with Jeep's full-time AWD system called Active Drive I. This all-wheel drive system has five modes to choose from, namely Auto, Sand, Mud, Rock and Snow.
The Jeep Renegade will retail for PhP 1,941,000, which corresponds with the brand's birth year of 1941.
