Mitsubi Motor Philippines is set to highlight the Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in this year's Philippine International Motor Show on September 14-18 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
Like most of the automaker's current lineup, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV features Mitsubishi's “Dynamic Shield” design. The middle of the fascia is painted in black while the trim surrounding the middle section is painted in chrome. It is also fitted with a specifically-designed bumper extensions created for better aerodynamics, a two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, and LED headlights.
The main highlight of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is its electric drive system. It has two battery packs that power all four wheels in EV mode. Assisting the electric motors is a 2.0 liter engine that produces 120 PS. With the electric system on, total output is rated at 200 PS. Factory fuel economy is rated at 20.2 kilometers per liter and, with pure electric range mode on, up to 60.2 kilometers. In pure EV mode, it allows up to 52 kilometers without gas engine assistance.
There is currently no word if Mitsubishi will be releasing this car in Philippines but the automaker aims to introduce plug-in hybrid technologies to the country in the near future.
