Is it a fastback? Is it a crossover? It's both.

We're talking about the BMW X4, and the all-new model has landed in the Philippines. Serving as the X6's smaller brother, the X3 is a sportier, swoopier version of its upright sibling, the X3.

BMW calls the X4, along with the X2 and X6, a Sports Activity Coupe. Its face is shared with the X3, right down to the unique headlights, wide kidney grill and aggressive bumper treatment, but that's where the similarities end. There's a more rakish windshield, slimmer windows, sportier-looking wheels and, of course, that sleek roof line.

The 2019 BMW X4 also takes a page from the 8 Series coupe, which debuted earlier this year. Its tail lights now follows the slim look with the signature 'L' shape integrated in the clusters. The tail is kicked up and the top part of the tailgate has a subtle spoiler.

Stepping inside, the X4 shares the same dash as the X3. Present is a floating infotainment screen, which is in line with BMW's current design direction. The top of the dash is also more rounded than before. As it is the sportier sibling of the X3, the steering wheel has a thick rim. Being a BMW, it retains the classic driver-oriented center stack, brought to the modern times with geometric shapes.

Under the hood is the tried and tested 2.0-liter turbodiesel which is used in a wide variety of BMW models. Power is rated at 190 PS and 400 Nm of torque and is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. xDrive all-wheel drive is standard. Retail price is set at Php5,190,000.
