Looking for a big automatic seven-seater for less? You’re in luck as Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has just launched a new entry-level automatic of the mu-X. It’s priced at less than Php 1.5M and is powered by Isuzu’s small yet powerful 1.9-liter RZ4E turbo-diesel.

At first glance, the base model automatic looks the same as its stablemates. Like the higher grade models, it comes with bi-LED projector headlights with LED daytime running lights. What’s different however, is it gets gray-colored front grill and rear garnish instead of chrome. Meanwhile, the door handles and side mirror caps are painted black. It also gets smaller 16-inch alloy wheels and has no foglights.

Inside, it only gets manual air-conditioning and fabric seats. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, however, comes as standard and is available with navigation. There’s also a multi-info display and power-adjustable side mirrors fitted on the mu-X RZ4E LS A/T.

Under the hood is the familiar 1.9-liter RZ4E turbo-diesel engine that puts out 150 PS and 350 Nm of torque. Power is then transferred to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual gear select.

Despite being an entry level automatic, the LS A/T still comes with the following safety features: anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, brake override system and dual SRS airbags. The reverse camera and parking sensors are only available for the LS-A variants.
