Porsche AG has confirmed that they are close to fixing the glitch that caused engine fires to the 911 sports car GT3 engine.
“We know the reason and the problem-solving measures. We’re testing them,” said Porsche CEO Matthias Müller to Bloomberg. Porsche will announce the technical solution shortly and inform customers right away.
The said problem was first reported about a month ago when Porsche recalled all 785 examples of the the 911 GT3 versions of current model (991) in Febuary after two vehicles caught fire due to engine problems. The automaker said there were no reported accidents or injuries related to the incidents.
