Porsche is giving Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo a hefty boost. They have fitted the fastest Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo S with the marque's E-Hybrid plug-in system to deliver well over 100 PS more than the Turbo model. Porsche dubs it the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo.
The internal combustion engine in this plug-in hybrid is the same twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V8 engine found in the Turbo. Output for the said V8 is 550 PS and 770 Nm of torque. The addition of the E-Hybrid system adds 130 PS and ups the torque figure by 80 Nm. Thanks to its 14.1 kilowatt-hour battery, the result is 680 PS and 850 Nm of torque and it sends all of its power to all four wheels. Porsche claims a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h. For comparison, the non-hybrid Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo dose the same task at 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 304 km/h.
As for its electric motors and batteries, Porsche says that the high-performance hybrid can drive on a pure electric mode for 49 kilometers. Also, the lithium-ion batteries are said to reach its full charge within two and a half to six hours, depending on depletion. Porsche also adds that, in full electric mode, the car can reach 140 km/h. Factory-claimed fuel economy figures are rated up to 33.3 kilometers per liter.
Aside from the green badging to denote its hybrid system, the exterior of the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo is the same its non-electrically assisted counterparts. There are different readouts for the infotainment system, adding in data for the car's special electric powertrain. Like the rest of the Sport Turismo range, this E-Hybrid Turbo S version comes with an active tailgate spoiler which varies its angle depending on conditions. It does get carbon ceramic brakes standard, as well as the Porsche InnoDrive driver assistance package. Rear-wheel steering and a five-seater package meanwhile are optional.
