Late last year, PGA Cars announced that the all-electric Porsche Taycan will be arriving in the Philippines this 2020. At the time of the announcement, however, they did not mention when it will be launched, only saying early. Now, it seems that the first-ever electric Porsche will be arriving sooner than we thought. Better yet, we also know approximately how much it will cost.
Starting with the when question. No specific date was mentioned yet. But, they did say that Taycan will be arriving Q1 2020. With that in mind, we don't expect it to make its official debut any later than March 2020.
As for the price, the Taycan will be offered in the Philippines with a price tag at around Php 18 million.
Now here's the caveat: the price isn't final yet. Yes, it's quite high which is typical for ultra luxury automobiles in the Philippines anyway. The TRAIN law does exempts electric vehicles (EVs) from excise tax, but the car still does have to travel a long way and deal with exchange rates which can fluctuate.
At the moment, we're not sure what variant of the Taycan will be offered here and which one will have the Php 18 million price tag. For that price though, we're expecting (and hoping) it to be the range-topping Turbo S version already.
So, do you think the Taycan is still worth it?
