Following Infiniti's short teaser regarding the QX80 Monograph, Nissan's luxury division has decided to take the covers off the design concept ahead of its full unveiling at the New York Auto Show. Infiniti says that QX80 Monograph is the direction that the brand will taking in further developing the full-size luxury SUV, which implies that the next gen QX80 will have design ques taken from this concept.
“QX80 Monograph shows our concept of luxury and style on the road, and is an exploration into how we could enhance our future Infiniti offering in the luxury SUV segment,” said, Roland Krueger, president of Infiniti.
As seen in the lone photo, the Monograph now has a larger front grille which further highlights the size of the luxury SUV. There is also a wing shaped LED under the headlights, both of which now sit higher as compared to the current generation QX80. A trim atop the headlights flow smoothly back to the rear facing camera, which seem to serve as side mirrors. As previously stated, the windshield now wraps around the pillar more making it seem like once continuous piece.
There are no details yet regarding the interior or the engine, but given its size, expect a full three-row seating capacity. Being a concept as well, expect the dashboard to be loaded with a wide array of infotainment systems along with other high tech equipment. Engine wise, the current generation QX80 uses a 5.6-liter V8, but given the more strict emissions law the V8 could possibly be ditched for a smaller, turbocharged powertrain.
More details once Infiniti fully reveals the QX80 Monograph soon.
