Ramon Ang volunteers to address NCR flooding at ZERO cost to PH gov't
The private sector again saves the day

The Philippine government may have found its hero who will solve the decades-long (and often milking cow) issue of flooding in Metro Manila as San Miguel Corporation’s (SMC) hard-nosed CEO, Ramon Ang, volunteered to solve this problem at absolutely ‘no cost to the government.’
“Ako po San Miguel, Ramon Ang, nagvo-volunteer ako ngayon. Ako na ang tutulong sa buong Metro Manila ma-solve ang baha at no cost to the people at no cost to the government,” said Ang during today’s press conference together with various local government officials of Metro Manila.
(This is Ramon Ang of San Miguel. I am volunteering now to help solve the flooding in all of Metro Manila, at no cost to both the people and the government.)

SMC was recently the subject of public criticism, as many linked the recent flooding in certain areas directly to the company’s ongoing construction projects, such as the MRT-7.
“Kasalanan ba namin ‘yun? Hindi. Wala nang turuan. Pinalitan namin lahat ng kanal. Kami ang gumawa noon,” added Ang.
(Is it our fault? No, let’s stop pointing fingers. We were the ones who replaced all of the canals and completed the work.)
SMC has earlier defended its construction practices, stating that all MRT-7 structures were deliberately placed outside of existing drainage lines. The company also confirmed that the work was executed in compliance with approved engineering plans, ensuring that the columns and footings do not obstruct the natural flow of water and should not cause any flooding.
