Honda has recently revealed the revamped 2017 Pilot EX which now features the latest connectivity: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
"For 2017, we're making Pilot even more appealing with new technology and options that our customers are seeking," said Jeff Conrad, Honda Division senior vice president and general manager.
The updated 2017 Pilot EX applies the next generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering ™ (ACE ™) body structure, which is designed to efficiently absorb and disperse the energy from a frontal collision, along with ultra-high-strength door rings, which are designed to help better protect occupants.
The Pilot boasts a big interior space with seating for up to eight passengers and a cargo space that can hold at least 78-liter cooler without compromising third row seating capability. Honda said that its center console also features a spacious compartment capable of accommodating items such as a full size iPad.
As mentioned, the 2017 Pilot EX is now equipped with Apple CarPlay ™ and Android Auto ™ integrated into an improved 8-inch Display Audio touchscreen, which features new coating that reduces the appearance of fingerprints on the screen.
Meanwhile, it provides an easy third-row entry and exit with the help of the available one-touch second-row seat on EX-L and above models, and large third-row entryway.
The 2017 Pilot powered by a 3.5-liter, direct-injected i-VTEC® V6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM™) cylinder deactivation technology rated at 284 PS and 355 Nm of torque. The engine can also be mated to two advanced transmissions such as a 6-speed automatic transmission or, on upper trims, a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Other amenities include an Intelligent Traction Management system which enables the driver to select the operating mode that best suits the driving conditions. It is also available with Honda Sensing, a suite of technologies designed to expand the driver's situational awareness.
All Pilots feature a button-operated Intelligent Terrain Management System that offers different operating modes, for the AWD: Normal, Snow, Mud and Sand; and for the FWD: Normal and Snow.
The Japanese automaker also said that the updated 2017 Pilot EX is now available in black interior and White Diamond Pearl exterior paint.
