The 2016 Honda Civic will be getting VTEC Turbo in two displacements apparently after CivicXForum recently acquired an image of what supposedly will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged motor.

The new-generation Civic is already available with a 174 PS, 219 Nm 1.5-liter inline-four Earth Dreams turbo mated to a CVT. Now, it appears that other variants will be available with a larger turbocharged engine.

According to one of the members of the forum, the new engine likely benefits from an electric wastegate actuator and built-in blow-off valve on the compressor housing. Other details about the engine are scarce but it is believed that it will be the one used in the new Civic Type-R and SI variants.

No power rating of the 2.0L turbo engine is available at the time, but the new Civic Type R engine has 310 PS and 400 Nm of torque. If it will be available to other variants, it will most likely be detuned.

Aside from the smaller 1.5-liter, the 2016 Honda Civic is also available with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter inline-four that produces 158 PS and 187 Nm of torque. It can be mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or CVT.
