Nissan will reportedy be producing more Nismo vehicles in the future in order to make their road cars more exciting and for the tuning brand to have more recognition around the world.
According to CAR Magazine, Nismo Global Head of Brand Darren Cox told the magazine that the tuning arm of Nissan is a powerful brand tool as it is synonymous not only to race cars, but also on road-going models and to the video-game generation.
"Most people know Nismo through gaming and our Nismo GT Academy. When we wanted to make our road cars more exciting, taking Nismo global seemed a natural way to do it," said Cox.
Another reason why the company wants to make more Nismo automobiles is that they will be able to rival against bespoke cars that are being made by Mini and Citroen's sub-brand DS.
Current Nismo vehicles being sold by the company include the GT-R, 370Z , Juke , Micra and Note. The first three are already being sold in Europe while the Micra and the Note are still Japan-only models.
