Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) begins the new year with the launch of the revamped CR-Z hybrid coupe. For 2016, it gets restyled front and rear bumpers, new light clusters and more standard equipment.

The majority of the changes made to the CR-Z lie in exterior and interior pieces. Honda has gievn the front and rear bumpers a more chiseled look, giving it a more aggressive stance. The projector headlamps and daytime running lights (DRL) have also seen minor revisions as well.

The CR-Z’s interior sees change with the an orange and black theme on the door panels as well as the bolsters of the front seats. The dashboard received some upgrades in the form of a 7-inch touch screen display system and a push start button. Most notably however is the removal of the standard handbrake lever in favor of an electric parking brake, a feature many contemporary vehicles have taken advantage of as well.

The 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine with Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) Hybrid system is carried over producing the same 136 PS @ 6600 rpm for the 6-speed manual gearbox version and 135 PS @ 6600 rpm for the CVT mated version.

For 2016, the CR-Z is now offered with a two-tone black roof, mirrors, and tailgate for several of its color options. This two-tone scheme can be availed in Helios Yellow, Milano Red, and Premium White Pearl. Other color selections include Brilliant Blue Metallic (monotone) and Polished Metal Metallic, available upon special order.

The new Honda CR-Z starts at Php 1,440,000 for the 6-speed manual and Php 1,530,000 for the CVT with paddle shifters.
