Motorists going to Anda Circle from Coastal Road and vice-versa will soon have an alternate route in order to prevent or avoid congestion along Roxas Boulevard.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced that they will open the service road parallel to Roxas Boulevard in order to reduce vehicular volume in the area.
“We are coordinating with establishments along Roxas Boulevard and the local government units of Manila and Pasay for the clearing of obstructions,” said MMDA General Manager Thomas Orbos.
This means that when the MMDA fully opens the service road for the use of motorists, street parking will be disallowed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
Vehicles that use the service road as parking near the United States and Japan Embassy, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and Department of Finance will have to be sorted out in order to fully utilize the service road.
The MMDA is also considering the widening of Roxas Boulevard to increase traffic flow and has currently not identified the exact date of the opening of the service road.
