Chevrolet has just revealed its newest budget hatchback in Brazil, set to be shown to the public tomorrow at the 2012 Sao Paulo International Auto Show.
The Onix was specially developed by General Motors do Brasil for the Brazilian market and sits atop its Gamma II small car platform, the same one used by the Chevrolet Sonic. The Onix is considered as GM's third largest market and will be pitted against the Volkswagen's Gol and the Hyundai's HB20, both of which are also going to be launched at the auto show.
"We looked to create a car with high levels of design, comfort and technology that will exceed customer expectations," said Chevrolet Marketing Director Gustavo Colosi.
The Chevrolet Onix is currently being produced at the GM complex in Gravataí and will be going on sale in Brazil next month and will be available in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels. No news yet whether it will reach Philippine soil since Chevrolet Philippines just launched the Sonic sedan and hatchback recently.
