After the overwhelming market reception for the first batch of 100 units of the new Civic Type R that resulted in the orders being finished in just 48 hours, Honda Cars Philippines had to do something to satisfy the demand. Earlier this year, Honda announced that an order for a second batch of 100 units have been placed, and are set to arrive later in 2018.

Second batch of Honda Civic Type R arrives in PH

If you've been waiting for your own Type R, well you haven't got much waiting left to do, as Honda says the second batch has just started to arrive in the country. And a third color option has been made available alongside the Rallye Red and Championship White options: Polished Metal Metallic.

Every Civic Type R sold in the Philippines is built at Honda's factory in Swindon in the UK.

We've driven the current generation Civic Type R before, and have been impressed with the acceleration provided by the 310 PS 2.0L VTEC Turbo engine, the directness of the 6-speed manual gearbox, and the overall handling of the car. The Civic Type R also earned multiple lap records for a production front wheel drive car on circuits such as Spa Francorchamps in Belgium, Silverstone in the UK, and the Nurburgring in Germany.

Honda says that the Civic Type R will be displayed at their 38 dealers nationwide, and will still be sold for the same price as it was in 2017: PhP 2,980,000. Customer deliveries will begin in the first week of October, 2018.
