Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) will be paying tribute to 50 years of the Mustang by showing a bespoke version of it at the 2014 SEMA Show in November.
Since the car is celebrating its golden year, GAS decided to mix hues of black and gold for the car's overall theme. The side skirts, 20-inch wheels, brake calipers and grill emblem are all covered in gold while the body itself is finished in black with gold metallic flakes. The front fascia has been redone and now features a carbon fiber splitter, LED-integrated headlights and a see-through hood via a glass window. The rear bumper now receives an aggressive diffuser.
Inside the cabin, the gold theme seeps into the trim and interior finishes. The seats were sourced from Recaro with the fabric upholstered in black and gold.
Under the see-through hood is the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 that now creates 735 PS thanks to the Whipple supercharger that has been powder-coat with gold as well. Underneath the car, a Magnaflow exhaust system has been fitted while the aftermarket suspension was provided by Steeda.
Besides the 50th Anniversary Mustang by GAS, there will also be a Petty's Garage Mustang S550 that is equipped with a Roush supercharged V8. The car is covered in Richard Petty's signature NASCAR blue livery along with the No. 43, his number during his NASCAR days. No specifics have been released by Petty's Garage but the car will be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson with the proceeds going to Victory Junction, a summer camp for children that is dedicated to helping chronically ill children.
