Shanghai 2015: Ford Taurus makes global debut


Ford brings the Taurus nameplate to China

Ford has just revealed the 2015 Taurus during this year's Shanghai Motor Show.

According to Ford, the 2015 Taurus is a “premium sedan for discerning Chinese business customers.” In addition, the American automaker is introducing the Taurus nameplate in the country for the first time and said that the said vehicle is “designed especially to meet the needs of the Chinese market.”


Up front, the 2015 Taurus is fitted with a hexagonal grill, LED headlights and a large bumper. When viewed from the side, the vehicle is characterized by flowing lines as well as the polished 19-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels.

The rear of the 2015 Taurus comes with LED taillights and a chrome bar that highlights the vehicle's width. Ford said that the vehicle is also equipped with chrome exhaust tips.

The interior of the 2015 Taurus features a full panoramic sunroof and a power-reclining rear seats with optional adjustable lumbar support and massage function. The cabin also has a rear-seat control panel for air conditioning, seat functions and car media.

Powering the 2015 Taurus is a 2.7-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine though Ford has not released the power and torque ratings yet.
