The MG GS made its debut at the 2015 Auto Shanghai which marks the further expansion of the brand.
According to MG, the GS is the brand's medium SUV model features athletic styling evident in the aggressive front design which consists of a muscular front bumper, aggressive headlights mesh grill, and a sculpted hood. When viewed from the side, the vehicle's smooth flowing lines are also accented by muscular wheel arches.
The rear of the GS is predominantly characterized by the large bumper, accented by silver trims and integrated with dual exhaust pipes. The distinctive taillights that wraps around the fenders add to the overall styling of the GS. In addition, the vehicle comes with a tailgate-mounted spoiler and a diamond cut 18-inch alloy wheels.
The interior of the GS has a two-tone theme and features a gloss black trim as seen on the dashboard. It also has a three-spoke steering wheel, an 8-inch high-definition infrared multi-touch screen and a push start button.
The GS is powered either by a 1.5-liter or a 2.0-liter engine. MG said that the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine delivers 168 PS and 250 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine generates 220 PS and 350 Nm of torque. MG goes on by saying that the engine can be mated to a six-speed manual, a six-speed dual-clutch or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
