New formulation addresses friction and deposits

After over five years of work by Shell R&D experts, composed of 170 fuels scientists across 5 fuels technology centers, Shell unveils brand new formulations for its premium Shell V-Power fuels. The new V-Power, now formulated with Shell's proprietary Dynaflex Technology, was launched last June 8, 2017 and made available in Shell stations nationwide.

At the launch, Shell took the opportunity to introduce its new brand ambassadors, Jericho Rosales and Yassi Pressman, along with partner brands, Ducati, Ferrari, BMW, Mini, Mazda, and Hyundai.

The new formulation targets two key factors that can impact engine efficiency and performance: friction and deposits. The new Shell V-Power Diesel is designed to help restore up to 100% of the engine’s performance by removing deposits from fuel injectors.

Shell claims V-Power’s Dynaflex Technology can help restore your engine’s performance by actively removing and preventing the build-up of fuel system deposits and reducing wasted energy. The formulation is designed specifically for modern vehicle engines, which expose fuels to tougher conditions (e.g. higher pressures and temperatures). These conditions also increase the likelihood for performance-robbing deposits to become stuck in key fuel system components such as fuel injector’s nozzle holes and inlet valves of gasoline engines. As such, the new fuel promises to improve engine cleanliness by removing deposits that havealready formed. The new formulation can remove up to 80% of performance-robbing deposits, with the twin effect of improving system condition and restoring lost performance.

This is all done by a protective layer that is instantly formed the moment a customer fills up with Shell V-Power Racing or Shell V-Power Gasoline. The Dynaflex formulation contains new friction-reducing molecules helping to lubricate engine parts that are difficult for lubricating oils to reach, including the vital area in the engine between the piston ring and the cylinder wall. This, in turn, allows the piston to slide up and down more easily, and improves the performance of the engine.

“We are constantly faced with the challenge to keep up with the rapid evolution of vehicle technology and the changing needs of our customers. This is why we have spent over half a decade of research and development to produce our best-ever fuel, the new Shell V-Power,” said Anthony Lawrence Yam, Pilipinas Shell Vice President for Retail.

Shell is committed to working tirelessly to improve its fuel and non-fuel offers. The new Shell V-Power is just one of the company’s ways to continue to be every Filipino’s reliable partner on the road for the next 100 years and beyond.

The new Shell V-Power with Dynaflex Technology is now available in all fuel stations in V-Power Gasoline, V-Power Racing and V-Power Diesel fuels.
