Installation of AutoSweep & EasyTrip RFID stickers will no longer be done at Shell Magallanes
Starting September 1, 2023, SMC Tollways and NLEX Corporation will hold a two-month dry-run of the cashless collection of toll fees via RFID. As a result, there will be no cash lanes available on select toll plazas in order to give way to the two-month dry run of contactless toll collection.
With expressways such as NLEX, SCTEX, TPLEX, SLEX, STAR, CAVITEX, Skyway, and MCX set to go cashless later this week, it's expected that motorists will begin to flock to the nearest RFID installation kiosk (or center) in order to get an AutoSweep or EasyTrip RFID put on their vehicle.
One of the most convenient places to actually get either AutoSweep or EasyTrip RFID stickers is the Shell Magallanes station. Unfortunately, the stickering service will be discontinued on the same day the expressway concessionaires begin the two-month dry-run of cashless collection of toll fees. You read right, RFID installation at Shell Magallanes will stop on September 1, 2023.
In a statement, Shell Magallanes Management shared that “after careful consideration and in alignment with the collective vision of our stakeholders, we have taken the decision to no longer accept stickering services for both AutoSweep and EasyTrip RFID systems at Shell Magallanes.”
The decision to stop offering the said services is part of the company's commitment to streamline and enhance customer experience when visiting Shell Magallanes.
“With this change, we aim to provide a more efficient and convenient service for all customers. While stickering services for these RFID systems will no longer be available at our location, we encourage you to explore alternative options for obtaining or renewing your Autosweep and Easytrip RFID tags,” continued Shell in their statement.
With Shell Magallanes set to cease offering RFID installation services, the Toll Regulatory Board has advised motorists to visit other RFID installation sites. Those who have yet to get their RFID stickers can do so by visiting the following sites;
