San Miguel Corporation (SMC), together with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), has officially opened the new Nagtahan northbound and southbound exit ramps. With it, motorists can now directly go to Sta. Mesa without having to go to another nearby off-ramp.
According to SMC president Ramon S. Ang, the opening of the Nagtahan exit ramps along Skyway Stage 3 will help motorists travel faster around Manila. Moreover, it will ease congestion along major thoroughfares commonly used to access Sta. Mesa, and nearby areas.
“With the Nagtahan exits, motorists coming from both SLEX and NLEX or other points of entry to the Skyway 3, can now opt to get to their destinations in Manila faster, without having to go through traffic, or contribute to traffic on major public roads and busy streets,” said Ang.
Ang said the next northbound ramps to be opened are the Quirino exit (heading to Roxas Blvd), Quirino entry, E. Rodriguez entry, and Sgt. Rivera (C3) exit. Meanwhile, future southbound access points will be A. Bonifacio entry, Sgt. Rivera (C3) entry, and Quirino exit.
As for DPWH Sec. Mark Villar, he said that the opening of the new Nagtahan entry/exit ramps will allow motorists to reap the benefits that frequently take the Skyway Stage 3.
“The concessionaire is taking advantage of the dry season to fast-track the completion of ramps as we want more motorists to reap the benefits of additional interchanges in between Buendia and NLEX. The timely opening of all interchanges will also further reduce traffic along major NCR roads, most specifically EDSA, Quezon Avenue, Araneta Avenue. Nagtahan, and Quirino Avenue,” said Villar.
The next time you're heading to Manila and need to go to Sta. Mesa immediately, there is now direct access on either southbound or northbound directions.
