The MPV probably is the last vehicle one would think of modifying or customizing. Specifically designed to be a people carrier, a family car, or as a hauler, the MPV often lives a hard / thankless life but it gets the job done.
But someone over in Indonesia has just made what could be the fastest (or wildest) Innova to date. Say hello to the 2JZ-powered Toyota Innova. You read right, this custom MPV has a turbocharged inline-six derived from the Supra, and it looks mean as heck.
Finished in a bespoke blue-gray hue, this Innova clearly has some work done on it. We don't exactly know how much power it produces. But based on what we're seeing under the hood, we won't be surprised if this MPV has 400 horsepower or more.
Besides swapping out the factory engine for a souped-up inline-six, the owner of this Innova also decided to upgrade its braking system courtesy of some vented discs for faster stoppages. A new set of Volk TE37 18-inch alloy wheels, along with Yokohoma Neova tires that measure 265/45, give the MPV better grip. No mention if the owner upgraded the suspension, but given the inline-six's high performance, it might have received uprated springs and shocks.
As for the inside, don't expect to find any fancy doodads as the owner decided to keep it simple and functional. It has a full roll cage, Recaro bucket seats for the front and rear passengers, a third-row seat delete, a three-spoke aftermarket steering wheel, as well as an aftermarket gear shifter.
Where most builders / tuners might have used something more suited to fit the 2JZ', one Indonesian thought out of the box, and instead used it on perhaps one of the unlikeliest vehicles on the road. While others might look at this as sacrilege, personally, this actually looks wicked. Cheers to whosoever owns this beast of an Innova.
