Soon-to-be-launched Suzuki Fronx gets approval from the LTO
The Philippine launch of the all-new Suzuki Fronx is inching closer

Last month, Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH) wowed everyone when it previewed the Fronx. It's set to go up against the likes of the Toyota Raize, Kia Sonet, and the yet-to-be-revealed Nissan Magnite. Based on the initial info we received, the 1.5L K15C engine, which comes with the brand's SHVS mild-hybrid technology, has already been confirmed for the local market. However, there's also the possibility of the automaker bringing the regular 1.5L K15B variant of the Fronx.
Fast forward to the end of July, and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has just approved the Suzuki Fronx for the local market. Based on a recent memorandum circular released by the agency, it looks like the Fronx will be available in different variants, which somewhat confirms our previous report.

Based on what the LTO has approved so far, there will be the Suzuki Fronx GLX AT AD, which features a 1462cc gasoline-powered inline-four engine. It measures 3995mm in length, 1765mm in width, and 1550mm in height. Its wheelbase comes in at 2520mm long while its ground clearance is rated at 170mm. Last but not least, it comes with 195/60 series tires wrapped in 16-inch alloy wheels.
Other details about the PH-spec Suzuki Fronx are not yet available, but it looks like the recently-approved model is the top-of-the-line version since the automaker usually uses the GLX nomenclature for its range-topping models. We also don't know yet if the Fronx will get a four-speed automatic or the six-speed automatic transmission, which is exclusive only to the SHVS version of the crossover SUV.

With the LTO already approving the Suzuki Fronx, it might not be long before we get to see the brand's latest crossover SUV make its official debut in the country.
