High-performance Subaru WRX TR teased before its launch next week at Subifest Florida
A few months ago, Subaru brought back the tS variant for the 2024 BRZ. Not only does the upgraded BRZ come with extra goodies like Brembo brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, and Hitachi dampers, but it now also comes with EyeSight that can be tailored to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
While this is all well and good, the WRX has yet to receive a special edition of its own complete with tasteful upgrades. Fortunately, Subaru is set to reveal a high-performance version of the turbocharged sedan next week. Called the WRX TR, Subaru claims the soon-to-be-revealed vehicle will be sharper and more enthusiast-focused than your typical WRX.
The WRX TR is set to be revealed at the 2024 Subiefest Florida, the largest gathering of Subaru enthusiasts in the state which will take place at Daytona International Speedway on October 7, 2023. The new vehicle will be launched with the help of motorsports & stunt driver extraordinaire Travis Pastrana and Bucky Lasek, professional skateboarder & rallycross driver.
No exact details about the 2024 WRX TR have been revealed just yet. However, based on the lone teaser image Subaru dropped, the high-performance WRX will get a sportier set of alloy wheels along with large Brembo brakes. Beyond that, Subaru is still being tight-lipped about the other details about the TR. However, we won't be surprised if it will come with a new set of dampers similar to the ones on the BRZ tS.
Other details about the exterior and interior of the WRX TR also remain a mystery but it could get a distinct body kit, a larger wing, new sport bucket seats, carbon fiber trim accents, and aluminum sport pedals.
With the launch set to take place next week on October 7, we're hoping Subaru drops more teaser images (or details) before its grand debut at Subiefest Florida.
