Isuzu opens up 2018 with stylish and sporty mu-X Luxe, D-Max X-Series
Need a sporty-looking pickup that blends both style and function? Or are you looking for a premium and rugged SUV?
Look no more as Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) recently launched the special edition models of their pickup and SUV offering, the 2018 D-Max X-Series and the mu-X Luxe. According to IPC, the two limited edition variants will add excitement as well freshen up their best-selling models against the competition.
“Keeping our line-up fresh is the key to the very demanding market, especially for the pick-up and SUV segment. To keep up with the competition, we are offering two new variants which are designed to exude the more aggressive and luxurious side of the D-MAX and mu-X models,” said IPC President Hajime Koso.
Starting with the 2018 X-Series, the sportier pickup now gets a blacked-out front grill that is then accented by a red Isuzu logo. There are also additional touches of red accents applied on the new front and rear skirt which gives the pickup a more aggressive and aerodynamic look.
Other exterior add-ons installed on the X-Series include: black roof rails, red foglight bezels, black 18-inch alloy wheels with red lip accents and a color-keyed tailgate spoiler.
As for its interior, the special edition pickup gets a subtle spruce up courtesy of an illuminated rocker plate with a red Isuzu logo. Isuzu even added additional USB charging ports for the driver and passenger/s.
Over to the mu-X Luxe, Isuzu kitted it out with light gray fender flares. Beside giving the mu-X a more rugged appearance, the new flares act as added protection as they can deflect rocks and debris away from the vehicle.
Inside, the SUV is now equipped with a new scuff plate illuminated in blue, along with a 3D surround sound system. But perhaps the most important addition in the mu-X Luxe is the Power Lift Tailgate. With a push of a button, drivers can now open and close the tailgate with ease for hassle-free cargo loading.
Under the hood, both the 2018 D-Max X-Series and mu-X Luxe are powered by the 3.0-liter 4JJ1-TCX 3.0-liter BluePower turbo-diesel engine. It generates 177 PS at 3550 – 3650 rpm along with 380 Nm of torque available between 1800 – 2800 rpm. Both the special edition pickup and SUV are available only in 4x2 trim, with the mu-X mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The D-Max X-Series, on the other hand, can come with either a five-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
Pricing of the mu-X Luxe and D-Max X-Series will be announced at a later date.
