Spied: 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT roadster spotted testing

Convertible AMG GT could be revealed later this year

Mercedes-AMG is indeed developing a topless version of the GT. Several months ago, our spies managed to snap the rear section of the aforementioned vehicle. Now, our spy photographers were able to get new pictures of the convertible from all angles.

Expected to be called the AMG GT C Roadster, the heavily camouflaged prototype gets a reworked roof along with what looks to be a fabric top. Also present is the smaller back window which differentiates it from standard hardtop models.

Engine options are likely to be carried over, but Mercedes-AMG did say that they will also come up with a AMG GT C. We're not entirely sure what will come out of this but the GT may soon be available with a new engine option.

Also, there is no word if the AMG GT R would also be getting a convertible version.

The new soft-top from Mercedes-AMG is expected to arrive later this year while first deliveries may arrive in 2017.
