Our spies have yet again caught the upcoming 2017 Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV testing without its bulky disguise. This process usually marks a vehicle's final testing phases before its debut. The Stelvio is scheduled to make its global debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month, where the Giulia Quadrifoglio also made its reveal last year.
The new images from our spies show Alfa Romeo taking styling cues from the Giulia sedan to round of the corners and soften the prototype’s surface.
View from the side gives it a profile similar to the Porsche Macan, its expected competitor. But as you come around to the front, the V-shaped façade makes it uniquely an Alfa Romeo.
Three ridges stretching from the bottom of the windscreen all the way to the front of the hood gives off an aggressive impression while a more rotund backside shows Giulia-type rearlamps.
The powertrain is expected to carryover from the Giulia as well, a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline and a 2.2L turbodiesel but those huge dual exhausts at the rear point to the possibility that it may also use the 2.9L V6 from the Giulia Quadrofoglio.
