AutoIndustriya.com reader Roger Edma Jr. forwards us yet another set of uncamouflaged photos; this time it could very well be the 2015 Mitsubishi Strada/Triton undergoing vehicle inspection at the Mitsubishi factory in Laem Chabang, Thailand. The photos of the white pickup truck were originally uploaded to the Triton Club Thailand forum by user pk_kom.
The design cues are so far spot-on with the GR-HEV concept Mitsubishi debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The front receives a large chrome grill, with vertically oriented bars - a departure from the horizontal orientation of its current lineup and the concepts debuted last year. The truck bed looks a bit awkward based on the photos, because the tailgate seems to sit lower than the sides.
This particular pickup seems to be in the final development stages as it is being compared to the current generation Strada/Triton. It was supposed to make its debut either as a final concept or production model at the 2014 Bangkok International Motor Show in March, but the timings might have been pulled back due to political unrest in Bangkok.
According to Mitsubishi's Mid-Term Business Plan released in November of last year, the Strada/Triton pick-up is scheduled for release within the fiscal year of 2014, which runs from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015. It also highlighted Thailand as the production hub for the upcoming pickup as well as its SUV platform-mate the Montero Sport/Pajero Sport.
