Spied: Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Speedster seen at the 'Ring

Aston Martin goes to the Nurburgring with Vanquish Zagato Speedster

Aston Martin and Zagato are indeed busy testing new prototype models that feature both style and power. After getting to see the Volante version of the Vanquish Zagato yesterday, our spies came upon another variant of the stylish grand tourer.

Spotted being tested at the Nurburgring, the Vanquish Zagato Speedster ditches its roof, along with the two extra seats at the back. This makes the prototype a proper two-seater. On the other hand, the removal of the hardtop means less weight though do expect Aston Martin fiddling with the chassis for better torsional rigidity.

As for its overall look, the topless Vanquish Zagato remains faithful to the original design of its hardtop counterpart. Up front it gets the large grill with integrated foglights, sweeping headlights, chin spoiler and long hood.

Over to the side, it has frameless door windows and buttresses which replace the back window. The rear fascia also carries over from the standard model and comes with the distinct taillights, quad exhaust pipes and active rear wing.

The familiar 5.9-liter V12 is expected to drive the Vanquish Zagato Speedster. It produces 600 PS along with 630 Nm of torque and is mated to an eight-speed Touchtronic automatic gearbox.

Only 28 examples will be made and all have been spoken for apparently.
