In what is likely the last place you may find an SUV, Audi has been spotted at the Nürburgring doing laps in the upcoming Q8. The Q8 is a 5-seater based off the Q7’s platform despite being significantly wider and shorter. From the looks of it, the Q8 will top the range of Audi’s SUV lineup with all the tech and features it will come with.
From what we’ve picked up during its preview during the Geneva Auto Show earlier this year, the Audi Q8 may possibly have the widest single-frame grilles among all production model Audis. That must count for some kind of record. This is not the first time our spies captured the Q8 as they were able to spot the upcoming SUV out in theelements last February. Side-by-side, it looks like the Q8 still has the same distinct exterior features.
Given that we know that the Q8 will share platforms with the Q7, it would be no surprise to see engine options to be similar to the seven-seater – with one exception. The RS Q8 might get a 4.0-liter Twin Turbo V8 under its bonnet, a highly probable scenario given Lamborghini is set to roll out the Urus SUV with the same powerplant.
The Audi Q8 is set to go on sale sometime during spring of 2018.
