Lamborghini developing an even hotter Aventador to succeed the SV

Lamborghini first introduced the Jota name back in 1970 when they built a highly modified version of the Miura P400. Only a single example was built from the factory called the Miura P400 Jota. Unfortunately, the sole example crashed and burned to the ground a year later. The Joya name has yet to be used again in any of the brand’s sports cars.

Soon that may change. Our spies recently spotted this Aventador prototype which -as seen in these photos- is packing a heavily revised aero setup. According to our spies, this hotter Aventador could possibly be called the SV Jota.

Unsurprisingly, the supposed Aventador SV Jota is completely covered in camouflage. In front, the bumper appears to be based on the current Aventador S albeit more aggressively styled with canards and a large splitter. At the side, a more aggressive side skirt has been fitted together with a new outlet behind the intake. Noticeably both the headlight and taillights are also covered.

It is in the rear that can the most significant changes can be seen on the supposed Aventador SV Jota. There is a more aggressive and larger rear wing, compared to that of the SV, perhaps to help improve downforce. The exhaust pipes are now larger and have been positioned higher, similar to that on the Huracan Performante.

This high-performance Aventador is expected to have a further increase in power, possibly around 800 PS. For reference, the Aventador SV already produces 750 PS from its 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12.

Our spies expect the hotter Aventador to make its debut sometime later this year with a Roadster version to follow soon after.
