Prototype Volkswaen T-ROC R sighted with no disguise, could debut in Geneva next year
Volkswagen's B-segment crossover will soon be available with over 300 PS. How so? Well the automaker was recently spotted at The Green Hell with a souped-up T-ROC.
According to our spies, the blue crossover seen there is apparently the prototype version of the T-ROC R. Supposedly based off the Golf R, it will have the same powertrain as its hot hatch counterpart along with a slightly reworked exterior.
The engine will reportedly be the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo that generates 314 PS and 400 Nm of torque. Other details about its powertrain remain a mystery but a new exhaust system and beefier brakes are expected to become a part of the package.
As for its exterior styling, it gets subtle updates including new LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and a quad exhaust system. Beyond that, almost everything carries over from the standard T-ROC.
It's highly likely that it will be making its official debut during the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show.
